It’s unquestionable that we must comply with laws and regulations around the world. We’ve set up a compliance organization and a compliance management system to ensure just that. The Compliance Officer in Hamburg is your initial contact person for any questions or reports of suspected violations. Together with 50 regional Compliance Coordinators, this group provides advice and assistance to employees to prevent noncompliance.

Prevention of corruption

There’s no place for corruption in our corporate philosophy. Hamburg Süd conducts risk assessments on a regular basis to identify potential risks at an early stage. We support and sensitize our employees to these risks through mandatory training. Furthermore, Hamburg Süd collaborates with other market participants in the Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN) .

Data protection

Handling personal data conscientiously – whether it relates to customers, employees, or other business partners – is a top priority for Hamburg Süd. There are binding processes and guidelines in place for data protection. Our Corporate Information Security Officer is responsible for all information security issues Group-wide, and is supported regionally by multiple colleagues. Mandatory training ensures that the employees of Hamburg Süd handle customer data responsibly and competently.

The quality of our services is quantifiable. Does cargo arrive on time? Is it undamaged? SeaIntel publishes a report comparing the punctuality of the top 20 container shipping companies, and Hamburg Süd has consistently placed in the top three for many years.
